The Story
Hi! I’m Jena and I’m reporting to you from the Wild Animal Sanctuary, the place and the people are amazing because they don’t only save abused animals they also save animals that were kept as illegal pets. A bobcat at the sanctuary named Peek-a-boo was a pet in Michigan, and in Michigan it is illegal to have bobcats as pets. She didn’t have the right home, so the Wild animal sanctuary took Peek-a-boo under their wing. Most people think that the only reason animals go to the sanctuary is because of abuse reasons but they’re wrong, animals do come here for abuse reasons and because of illegal pet owning reasons. But for any kind of reason, the sanctuary still takes the animals into their forever home. The sanctuary has been open for at least 34 years and has 330 animals. The Wild Animal Sanctuary is the oldest and the largest sanctuary in the US. With a 720 acre land spread the animals get to enjoy every bit of that land. People all over the world can help the animals by donating money, and adopting animals. Only YOU can save them and only YOU can rescue them. Bobcats aren’t the only animals that are kept as illegal pets, lions, tigers, bears, wolves, and lynxes are kept as illegal pets. I want to tell everyone that abuse is not the only thing that is sad but the thing is that the bobcats or any kind of animal can not survive in a small house or a garage or even a car. Everyone including has to step up and help. If not, what else. Right now all the animals that were rescued are now happy at their forever home at the sanctuary. In the future more animals will be rescued and more animals will be heard, if is isn’t for the wild animals sanctuary all those animals won't be heard at all. This is jena crawford at the wild animal sanctuary signing off.
